    SINGAPORE - Some 10,000 households in Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC will be able to buy cooking oil, eggs or rice for $1, under a new initiative to help residents cope with the rising cost of living. The GRC’s initiative, called MY $1 Deals, will allow households with at least one Singapore to buy up to three coupons for $1 each. These coupons can then be used to redeem a 2.5kg pack of rice, a litre of cooking oil or a tray of 30 eggs.

    SINGAPORE - One was a 41-year-old director of a digital marketing company. Another was a 21-year-old lift mechanic. And the third was a 44-year-old security guard. All three Singaporean men were arrested by the Internal Security Department (ISD) in October 2024,a year after Hamas attacked Israel on Oct 7, 2023. The men were affected by the war and had been self-radicalised online. They were determined to fight for Israel’s enemies.

    SINGAPORE – About 80 wanted people on the Interpol Red Notice list have ties to Singapore, including about 40 who are Singaporeans. This was revealed by Home Affairs Minister K. Shanmugam in a written parliamentary reply on Jan 7. He said that of the 80, half of them are not in Singapore. Mr Shanmugam was responding to questions from Ms Sylvia Lim (Aljunied GRC), Mr Louis Chua (Sengkang GRC) and Ms He Ting Ru (Sengkang GRC) about Interpol Red Notices.
