and SINGAPORE - As the general election draws near, substantial changes have been made to Marine Parade GRC – starting with its name. The boundaries of the renamed Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC will shift significantly as well. It will absorb all of MacPherson SMC, take in polling districts from Mountbatten and Potong Pasir SMCs, and cede the entire Joo Chiat ward and Chai Chee Housing Board estates to neighbouring East Coast GRC.

SINGAPORE - New museum exhibitions and art in public spaces will be put up as part of a series of events to mark Singapore’s 60th year of independence, inviting Singaporeans to reflect on its history and identity. Soft-launching the SG60 celebrations last November, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong had said the milestone is an opportunity for Singaporeans to connect with one another, reflect on shared values, and renew their commitment to the country.

The event drew 45 guests, who spent more than an hour in dialogue with ST editor Jaime Ho, senior social affairs correspondent Theresa Tan, and assistant news editor Audrey Tan, who supervises coverage of environment issues.
