May 10—If you really think about it, it's amazing Scrub Mommy hasn't just run off on her own and left Scrub Daddy behind. LIMA — Shannon Mellano had plenty of reasons not to run the Boston Marathon. She wasn’t a runner in her youth, picking up the pastime in her 40s on her way to running her first half-marathon at 43. Now she’s run 41 half-marathons and seven marathons. Her times weren’t considered fast enough. She started applying to run it as a fundraiser for a variety of charities, settling on Rebekah’s Angels, which provides support to trauma victims.
