☀️ Good morning ☕There’s a real sense of purpose around the Jets at the moment. It doesn’t mean they’ll be hoisting the Lombardy, but what it does do is create an atmosphere of togetherness, between the players, the management and the fans. I’ve seen a lot of teams across a number of sports outperform their talent level when everyone is pulling in the same direction. The Jets didn’t lack talent last year but they did lack cohesion, it showed every Sunday.

Jeff Blake-Imagn Images The Jets made an unexpected move on Tuesday afternoon when they announced they’d released veteran punter Thomas Morestead. With a new special teams coordinator in town and veterans compensated handsomely (in relation to their positions at least) it was always going to be an area of focus.

☀️ Good Morning ☕You knew this one was coming. With rookie minicamp 48 hours away I needed to get a post out on the player I labelled the “2025 Brock Purdy” during the draft process. Maybe that’s a little hyperbole, but I really do believe he has the talent to stick in the NFL, and considering he was a UDFA that’s notable. With the news of the Jordan Travis retirement it opens up the possibility of Cook sticking with the Jets on the practice squad.

☀️ Good Morning ☕So just like that it’s all over. Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn have completed their first draft and while I have a lot of thoughts, I’m not going to sit here and label it a success or a failure. It’s far too early for that and I’m sure the people in the building have a much better idea on how to construct a team than I do.
