Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn have completed their first draft and while I have a lot of thoughts, I’m not going to sit here and label it a success or a failure. It’s far too early for that and I’m sure the people in the building have a much better idea on how to construct a team than I do.

Good morning!Welcome to draft week. I’m excited to see what happens and I’ll be relieved when it’s over. I haven’t produced a lot of mock drafts, mainly because there is such an oversaturation now. I quite enjoy a mock draft because it offers different perspectives and gives you something to think about, at at the end of the day it’s a bit of fun during a quiet time for the NFL news cycle. However I do like to finish the draft cycle with one final mock for how I’d like to see it all play out.

Eric Canha-Imagn Images We’re just days away from the 2025 NFL Draft, which means we’re also just days away from being able to ignore mock drafts for a few months. With the big day getting closer, more and more publishers are releasing complete mock drafts predicting all 257 picks. If you were to go back and look at this a week today, I imagine the percentage of correct predictions would be no more than 15%, but it’s fun to look at none the less.

James Snook-Imagn Images According to Tony Pauline, the Jets hosted Washington State wide receiver Kyle Williams on an official top-30 visit yesterday, the same day their off-season program got started at 1JD. Williams spent the first three years of his career at UNLV, always being productive but never really breaking out. He caught 117 passes for 1,568 yards and 9 touchdowns over three years, not bad, but also not attention grabbing.

The Jets still have a lot of questions to answer at wide receiver if they’re going to give Justin Fields a fighting chance. Right now we have Garrett Wilson and a lot of question marks.

☀️ Good Morning ☕Draft picks are risky. No matter how much you believe in someone, you never really know if that player will work out once they take the step to the next level. Some players struggle physically, some struggle mentally, some allow the money to cloud their drive and some aren’t willing to put in the work. NFL teams do a lot of due diligence to mitigate the risk, dedicating millions of $$$’s to the process, yet they still get it wrong.

It’s a move that was widely expected considering his contract and with that move the remnants of the Aaron Rodgers experiment are largely eradicated.
Jets give veteran Allen Lazard permission to seek a trade

Sam Navarro-Imagn Images According to a report by ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Jets have given permission for Allen Lazard and his agent to seek a trade. The report does state that the Jets are open to bringing him back and him being part of the 2025 team, but I imagine that’s just lip service to try and encourage a trade option. Lazard counts $13.2M on the cap and if they release him then they will gain $6.6 million in cap relief.

That's just too many games to have abroad. If your team has 8 home games next season and you lose one to an international game, that's 12.5% of your home games gone. That's basically like losing 3 home games for a Championship team here in England. I'd be absolutely furious.
