It is consensus that all galaxies with stellar bulges host a Supermassive Black Hole (SMBH) in their centre. However, only ∼10 per cent of these galaxies exhibit an energetic phenomenon in their core (Ho 2008), which manifests only in the presence of a gas reservoir to fuel the SMBH. This compact region is known as an Active Galactic Nucleus (AGN) and harbours a SMBH with masses of ⁠.
