AbstractWe pursue the calculation of the model-independent component of the axion-photon-photon coupling in the U(3) chiral perturbation theory up to next-to-leading order, with the emphasis on the isospin breaking effect. The mixing of the \(\pi ^0\)-\(\eta \)-\(\eta '\)-axion system is revised as well by working out the complete linear isospin-breaking terms.

Polar-end 3,5-diarylisoxazole liquid crystals with SmA and highly ordered CrE mesophases† Polar-end 3,5-diarylisoxazol liquid crystals (ILCs) with nitro, amine and bromine polar terminal groups were thermally and structurally characterized. The nitro and bromo terminated compounds exhibited the highly ordered CrE mesophase below the conventional SmA.

We investigate magneto-optical trap-loss spectroscopy of Rydberg excited atoms, placed inside a tailored microwave cavity. The cavity frequency at 13.053 GHz is in resonance with the transition, inducing a ladder multiphoton microwave Rydberg absorption and emission.
