Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is the first Black Greek-letter organization founded in the United States. Created by college-educated women on the campus of Howard University in 1908, the sorority’s foundation is built on sisterhood, scholarship and service.

(WFLA) – Tampa is debuting the Invisible Immigrants: Spaniards in the U.S. exhibit at the Tampa Bay History Center, sharing the untold stories of Spanish immigrants who helped shape the city. The exhibit was curated by New York University Professor James D. Fernandez and Journalist-Filmmaker Luis Argeo, who spent a decade collecting nearly 15,000 records to create the Invisible Immigrants exhibit.

Established in 1944, the United Negro College Fund was originally founded during a time where Black and Brown students could not attend certain colleges due to the color of their skin. UNCF partnered with the then few Historically Black Colleges and Universities to help minority students get to and through college.

    TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The Tampa Asian American Pacific Islander Festival is days away and a Filipino native uses his dancing background to help cultivate the festival’s cultural performances. Tampa Mayor’s Asian American Pacific Islander Council is getting ready for the AAPI festival, which takes place Saturday, March 22 at Curtis Hixon Park. Several Asian companies will be represented, including Korea, the Philippines, China, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, India, Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Malaysia.
