    Knitting Factory Entertainment CEO Morgan Margolis and his partners prevailed Dec. 18 in a long-running battle for control of  Pappy + Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace near Joshua Tree, California, from ex-partners Moresco and Elin Group over the property. The Knitting Factory group assumed interim management of the beloved desert outpost on Dec. 23.

    Mary J. Blige, the “Queen of Hip-Hop Soul,” adds nine additional dates to “The For My Fans Tour,” which was first announced in September and begins Jan. 30 in at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. She’s joined on the tour by special guests Ne-Yo and Mario. The Grammy and Emmy-winning and Oscar nominated Blige was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in October.

    Classic rockers Styx and REO Speedwagon have shared a lot of stages spanning 25 years and, and despite the retirement of the latter as a touring entity, former singer and principal songwriter Kevin Cronin is teaming up with Styx and former guitarist Don Felder for the “Brotherhood of Rock” tour of mostly amphitheaters in summer 2025. The Live Nation-produced tour kicks off  May 28, 2025 in Greenville, South Carolina, at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

    The National Independent Talent Organization (NITO) has elected a new executive board, and voted Wayne Forte of Entourage Talent Associates president; Tom Chauncey of Partisan Arts as vice president; Matt Yasecko of Arrival Artists as secretary and Nelly Neben of Axis Management as treasurer, all for one-year terms. The election news follows the release of NITO’s “What Artists Earn” survey that serves to dispel a public perception that high ticket prices enrich artists.
