By Clerk Debbie Stone and Kathy Sands, Editor The Enfield Village board voted on Tuesday night to put the 20-acre area behind Booth School up for sale at $6,000 per acre. Four trustees were in attendance and Billy Bob Merrick abstained from the vote. Trustees Bolin, Harrison, and Willis voted in favor of the action. The meeting agenda introduced the discussion under New Business in this manner: 20 acres behind park.

By Clerk Debbie Stone and Kathy Sands, Editor Three trustees of the Village of Enfield gave the go ahead at last week's board meeting to look into amending the current liquor and gaming ordinance so that Enfield establishments that offer gaming can be open on Sundays. This appears to have all been decided in a closed session with no public input, as the board's agenda for the February meeting had no mention of any discussion of, or change to, the Village's alcohol ordinance.

By Debbie Stone and Kathy Sands, Editor It was reported on Tuesday at the regularly scheduled monthly Enfield Village board meeting that Animal Control has set up an office inside the newly acquired Booth School property. The officers are doing some cleaning in the building as well as a making a daily walk thru to make sure everything is ok. Mayor Black recommended increasing their salary as well as hire a parks and recreation director to handle how the building will be rented or loaned out.

By Clerk Debbie Stone and Kathy Sands, Editor Enfield's Village board held a special meeting last week to work out the details of an agreement to provide law enforcement services for the Villages of Springerton, Mill Shoals and Burnt Prairie. Patrolman Mark Wheeler said he had spoken to the White County Sheriff about how Dispatch fees would be handled in that event and was told that the charges would continue to be billed to Enfield and would increase next year.
