Following the 2017 World Workshop on the Classification of Periodontal and Peri-Implant Diseases and Conditions, peri-implant health, disease, conditions and deformities were reviewed.1 It has been reported that following tooth loss, hard and soft tissue deficiencies occur as result of normal healing of the alveolar ridge/process.2 This can compromise the aesthetics and long-term survival of implants, especially as maintenance is compromised.
