Filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan passed away on May 8 at a private hospital in Mumbai, says the Asianet News. He was 61 years old. Reports indicate that Sangeeth was receiving treatment at the hospital for an illness at the time of his demise. He was the eldest son of the esteemed photographer-cinematographer Sivan and the sibling of cinematographer-director Santosh Sivan, as well as the renowned filmmaker Sanjeev Sivan. Surviving him are his wife, Jayashree, and children, Sanjana and Shanthanu.
