    HOLTVILLE — Harvestfest, an event showcasing and celebrating everything Imperial County has to offer within the agricultural community, was put on by the Imperial County Young Farmers and Ranchers in partnership with University of California’s Farm Smart at the Desert Research and Extension Center in Holtville on Saturday, Jan. 25. The event featured activities and games suitable for all ages. Lawn games like corn hole and giant Jenga were available to test skills.

    EL CENTRO — Several dozen Imperial Valley residents made the march from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sports Pavilion on Park Avenue and Eighth Street to the steps of the Imperial County Courthouse to pay tribute to and commemorate the birthday of Dr. King, the slain Civil Rights icon, on Monday, Jan. 15.
