MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN) — A local business owner in Marana is channeling her grief for the greater good of her community. Her business Nurse Next Door is helping people across Southern Arizona. Traci Raymond started Nurse Next Door in Marana, but now works all over Southern Arizona, from Nogales to Picture Rocks. "What we do is we do care-giving in the home," Raymond said.

MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN) — Marana Unified School District is making history by transforming an old urgent care facility into a new school. IChoose Academy will be located in a building off of North Silverbell Road and West Twin Peaks Road. It will be a personalized learning academy for high school students, with some career technical education programming, according to Dan Streeter, MUSD superintendent. The project is expected to be completed by fall of 2025, serving around 400 students.

MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN) — The Tucson Bicycle Marana Time Trial on Friday will bring 600 cyclists to the town, with many of them traveling from all over the country. The event is off North Adonis Road and North Mandarina Boulevard, near I-10 and Tangerine. Many of the participants are traveling to the area from all over the country. "We’ve been here all week, doing a team camp. We've been riding the roads, you know, Mount Lemmon—all that good stuff," Evan Carson said.

(KGUN) — Water is vital to human life and Marana leadership knew that, even back in 1977, when they incorporated 10 square miles in order to retain water rights for current and future residents. Fast forward to today, and the town is working to keep up with the growing demand of water as its population continues to grow. The water reclamation facility in Marana treats about 900,000 gallons of wastewater each day.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN 9) — It's projected Arizona will be short about 28,100 nurses by 2025. The shortage comes as no surprise to the nurses who work at St. Joseph's Hospital on Tucson's east side. "It doesn't just affect Arizona or even Carondelet," Lynn Watson, Chief Nursing Officer at Carondelet Health Network, said. "It's a national shortage.
