The NASCAR world is mourning the loss of Cale Yarborough. Yarborough died today at age 84 after a lengthy illness. He first attempted to qualify for the Southern 500 as a teenager by lying about his age, but he was found out and thrown out by NASCAR. He won the Daytona 500 four times, the Southern 500 five times and he became the first NASCAR driver to win three consecutive championships.

Need to return a package? Just call an Uber. Starting today, Uber is expanding its 'Uber Connect' package delivery service to include returns. For a flat fee of $5 ($3 for Uber One subscribers), a driver will return up to five packages to the post office or a FedEx or UPS store. Packages will need to be sealed with proper postage before they're picked up. Uber Connect was launched in 2020 during the pandemic as a same-day delivery and courier service.

ABC has confirmed that its competition series, Dancing With The Stars, will premiere on Tuesday at 8 p.m. as scheduled. The network was thinking about scrapping the premiere after picket lines began to form outside rehearsal studios for the series. Monday, ABC announced that things would go as planned, along with the season also airing on Disney+, and if you miss it, it will be available on Hulu the next day.

As U.S. COVID cases continue to rise, the government is once again offering free testing kits to every American household. Effectively immediately, each household can order up to four rapid antigen tests, health officials say. The move comes after the past week saw COVID hospitalizations increase by 7.7 percent and related deaths rise by 12.5 percent, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It turns out paper straws might not be as eco-friendly as they’ve been touted to be. A study conducted in Belgium has found that paper straws contain “forever chemicals” that can cause worse damage – for a longer period of time – than their plastic counterparts. “Straws made from plant-based materials, such as paper and bamboo, are often advertised as being more sustainable and eco-friendly than those made from plastic,” says Thimo Groffen, author of the study.
