    Hallowed grounds: As news circulated this week about a change of ownership for Mod Coffeehouse in the island’s downtown, the first questions were whether the name and culture would change at the esteemed establishment. “No; absolutely not,” said new owner Chris Homer, who bought the popular coffeehouse from Holly Hopkins. “That would be like someone buying Gaido’s and changing the name. It’s not just a brand, it’s very Galveston.”Both Homer and Hopkins prefer the title steward over owner.
