RIVERSIDE — The nameplate on the office door will stay the same. Riverside City College announced Kevin Craft as its next football coach on Wednesday. Craft follows his father, Tom Craft, as RCC’s head coach and becomes the program’s fourth coach since 1998. “I’m honored to follow in my father’s footsteps and lead this incredible program,” said Kevin Craft in a statement.

The Mt. San Jacinto College has added women’s cross country for the 2025-26 calendar year and recently hired its first running coach. Former two-time NAIA All-American Jorge Jabaz, announced on June 2, has been tasked with building and leading the program’s inaugural group. “My goal is to implement a hard-working environment where athletes not only achieve success on the track but also develop the character, leadership and teamwork skills they’ll need to succeed in life,” Jabaz said.

One month after the resignation of former coach Mike Smith and three weeks since the end of the season, the California Baptist University softball program has a new head coach. Brandon Telesco has been hired to replace Smith, who left the program in late April. Telesco, 29, will take over later this summer. “I am honored to lead this growing program,” Telesco said.

LONG BEACH — It was Jacob Farias’ turn in the rotation. The junior right-hander allowed just one hit over 4 2/3 innings as Elsinore shut out St. Anthony 2-0 to claim the CIF Southern Section Division 5 championship at Blair Field on Saturday night. “I had seen it since the start of the playoffs and I knew it was going to come down to me,” Farias said. “I had so much adrenaline. I was so excited to be out there.”Farias was dominant over the first three innings and finished with five strikeouts.
