Marin is facing a growing crisis. Our school districts annually struggle with staffing shortages. Employees are being priced out of the housing market. It is increasingly difficult to recruit and retain dedicated professionals who serve our community. Without bold action, we risk losing the very individuals who educate our children and provide essential public services. A 2021 survey revealed that more than 1,400 Marin educators are seeking access to affordable housing.
