The Saskatoon Hilltops kept the train on the tracks and continued their path towards another national championship on Sunday with a 33-18 victory over the visiting Edmonton Huskies. In the first half, receiver Hayden Day pulled one in to account for the game’s first major and after a safety and another touchdown, this time from Datiel Fountaine, the Hilltops went into halftime with a comfortable 16-3 lead. The Huskies came out a different team in the second half at SMF Field.

The defending Canadian Junior Football League champions seem poised to take another run at a national title after finishing the regular season undefeated with a perfect 8-0 record. On Sunday the Toppers played their final game of the regular season on the road as Saskatoon faced the Huskies in Edmonton. With the Hilltops leading 3-0 to start the second quarter, the game saw its first major when Datiel Fountaine caught a five-yard pass to make it 10-0 for the visitors.

The Saskatoon Hilltops and provincial rival Regina Thunder were both ungracious hosts this past weekend in Prairie Football Conference action. Saskatoon Hilltops 57 - Winnipeg Rifles 14 The defending national champion Hilltops hosted the Winnipeg Rifles on Sunday afternoon. This one was close until the opening kick off at SMF Field. Datiel Fountaine took the opening kick-off 95 yards for a touchdown and the route was on from there as Saskatoon won 57-14.
