The Oregon State Police announced in a press release that it has uncovered the identity of a John Doe from four and a half decades ago. Police are investigating whether a notorious serial killer may have killed him. The body of an adult man was found on Interstate 5 near Woodburn in the early morning hours of July 18, 1980. A homicide investigation was launched, but his identity remained a mystery until 2025.

Hundreds of pups and their owners dashed in downtown Portland for a good cause on Saturday. The Oregon Humane Society’s yearly Doggie Dash is its biggest fundraising effort of the year. The event hosted the walk, a choice between 1.5-mile or 2.5-mile loop, and a pet festival at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. The festival included contests like the doggie leap, best singing duo and dog-owner-look-alike contests.

Portland’s first annual ManiFest brought together artists, nail art enthusiasts and kids from across the city to hold the tiniest of art on high. Co-founders Connie Wohn, Helena Chu and Asa Sieracki turned Union Pine, a social space in Portland, into an art exhibit celebrating nail art. The exhibit space hosted a dozen or more people late Saturday afternoon. Patrons could bedazzle press-on nails sets and lighter cases or sit in ASMR bliss inside a quiet room.
