Floyd Central High School teacher Kyle O’ Quinn was searching for a way to engage his freshmen students in Government/Civics class in November, when he stumbled upon Generation Citizen. O’Quinn said it started with some research. “I was researching different curriculums to see what would be best for getting students civically engaged,” he said.

Mountain Arts Center Executive Director Joe Campbell said the month of June is shaping up to be an exciting time at the MAC. “We have Dance Etc. coming up on May 31 and June 1” he said. Dance Etc. owner Jody Shepherd said the event is one folks won’t want to miss. “This is our 31st annual spring recital, and this year's theme is ‘Elevate,’” she said. “Myself, along with my staff, are so excited to see all of our dancers’ hard work culminate in our year-end production.

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - This July marks 3 years of e-scooters in Carbondale, and more changes could be coming this summer. The contract between Veo and the city was set to automatically renew on June 23, 2025. The city and Veo have made an agreement to extend this date to November 2025 with hopes to incorporate some new changes, such as AI technology.
