1. IntroductionAnthropogenic CO2 emissions have been drastically increasing in the last several decades and are linked to global climate change (Malhi et al., 2021; Friedlingstein et al., 2022). Among other human activities, high CO2 emissions are due to the intensive and long-term utilization of coal and lignite resources.
