The district started the network in 2020 to provide additional resources to employees at low-performing schools. In its first year, the network had 45 schools, and this year will have 39.

    Two Hillsborough County schools will get new principals after a school board vote Tuesday. Thomas Synder, assistant principal for curriculum at Bloomindale High School, will become principal of Durant High School. Synder started in Hillsborough County as a teacher at Riverview High School in 2004. He has also been an assistant principal at Alonzo High School. Synder will replace Gary Graham, who has served as principal since 2019.
