Andy Yerzy signed a minor league deal with the St. Louis Cardinals and has been assigned to the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds. The move comes after Memphis catcher Yohel Pozo was called up the major leagues following a knee injury to Cardinals catcher Ivan Herrera. Since then, the main catching duties have shifted to Pedro Pages with Pozo as his backup. Yerzy, according to CBS Sports, was released by the Cincinnati Reds earlier this month after a few games at Double-A Chattanooga.
