Micah Jones is well known in local and regional bass circles as an angler who gets its done in almost every tournament he enters. For the past several years I have been looking for an engine to replace the one I had on my 24-foot pontoon boat that I used for my night-time striper fishing trips on Lake Mead. I’ve been saying all along that bass fishing is going to get good and that anglers need to get out there and give it a try, and today’s story will confirm that. Kingman residents Joe Herrero, and his son Jimmy, along with son Johnny who lives in Phoenix have a yearly tradition of sorts. Almost every year, for the past 15 years, this father and sons have fished in the Arizona State Troopers Association bass tournament that is held at Alamo Lake.

Last week I predicted that when we had our next warming period I thought that the fishing for bass and stripers would turn on at our local Colorado River Lakes. Well the weather warmed up, and anglers up and down the Colorado River have reported that the fishing is indeed getting better.
