Mohave County school official accepts plea deal for DUI collision

Deputy Mohave County School Superintendent Craig McKee has admitted responsibility for a drunk driving traffic accident that sent two people to the hospital last fall. A plea agreement was entered Thursday, April 17, for Craig McKee, 59, Kingman. McKee faces as little as probation and possibly some jail time, up to three years in prison under terms of the deal.

A dusty, unpaved road led Colorado River Indian Tribes and Parker law enforcement to an alleged homicide last weekend, leaving two people dead and one in serious condition. Investigation remains ongoing in the case, but new details have now been made public. CRIT officials issued a statement in the April 13 incident, which reportedly took place at 27354 Gould Road, south of the town of Parker.

A wonderful man’s best friend toddler rescue story unfolded near the Mohave and Yavapai County border this week. Ranch dog Buford played a key role in locating, protecting and leading a missing two-year-old boy to safety at the Dunton Ranch about 42 miles east of Kingman. The boy named Boden was reported missing late Monday afternoon after he wandered from his home in the vicinity of the Interstate 40 Jolly Road exit.
Veteran at center of Havasu VFW scandal dies at 78

The former quartermaster of Lake Havasu City’s VFW post died this month, after he was transported to a Las Vegas hospital for emergency medical treatment. Dennis Dickey, 78, died April 4 after he reportedly suffered a stroke, followed by multiple heart attacks. Dickey was a Vietnam War veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and Air Force before serving as a law enforcement officer for more than five years. He later worked as a city engineer in Pasco, Washington, before moving to Havasu in 2015.
