PHOENIX — Gov. Katie Hobbs is getting money from special interests and other donors and not disclosing who they are. And it’s perfectly legal because of a exception carved into state law nearly a decade ago. kAmw@33D 92D D6E FA 2 DA64:2= 7F?5 E@ A2J 7@C E96 4@DED 96C 42>A2:8? :?4FCC65 :? 5676?5:?8 96C 282:?DE =2HDF:ED 3J 72:=65 #6AF3=:42?

PHOENIX — Gov. Katie Hobbs on Tuesday rejected a proposal by Rep. Matt Gress which would have required hotels and motels to warn guests that they also provide rooms for the homeless. The Phoenix lawmaker called his measure “consumer protection,’’ saying that paying customers should be alerted to “keep hotels doors locked, safely store their belongings and report any health or safety concerns to local law enforcement.’’ And there would have had to be signs to that effect at every entrance.

PHOENIX — Arizonans are in no danger of losing all their water. But the state’s top water official is warning that unless a deal is reached with other states, cuts in Colorado River water deliveries could lead to Arizonans having to change their lifestyles. kAm%@> qFD492EK<6 D2:5 %F6D52J E96C6 :D 2 DE2=6>2E6 @7 D@CED 36EH66? pC:K@?2 2?5 E96 “=@H6C 32D:?’’ DE2E6D @? @?6 D:56 2?5 E96 7@FC “FAA6C 32D:?’’ DE2E6D @G6C H9@ :D 8@:?8 E@ 92G6 E@ 23D@C3 2?E:4:A2E65 4FED :?

PHOENIX — The Arizona Supreme Court is giving groups that support Republicans one last chance to prove that they can hide the names of their donors — even if their money is being used to influence elections. In a brief order, the justices said they will consider a claim by the Center for Arizona Policy and the Arizona Free Enterprise Club that disclosure laws approved by voters in 2022 run afoul of the free speech clause of the state constitution.
