Instead, the walls are covered in wood and hundreds of colourful little footholds. In other words, it's a boulderer's paradise — and it's just a stone's throw from his couch. Mr Wilson first embarked on the ambitious project to build his own home-bouldering gym a few years ago.

Damian Tarrant was removed from his home when he was just 11 years old. By 13 he was a ward of the state and moving between refuges across Sydney. "I then went from 13, for the next 12 years or so, on a drug-fuelled adventure that I could only tell you bits and pieces of," he said. "I can hardly remember any of it."He's lived with the impact of complex and serious trauma, including a variety of serious mental health issues, drug addiction and multiple terms of incarceration in the ACT and NSW.
