Throughout this election year, we’ve heard a common refrain from the left that “democracy is on the ballot.” Beside the obvious flaw (we are a republic, not a democracy), I’ve struggled to follow the breadcrumbs of that narrative, until this week. It appears that the “democracy is at risk” message was projection, as the Democrat elite bided their time until after the primaries to replace President Biden in the November race.

In South Carolina’s Saturday Republican presidential primary, 60% of voters choose former President Donald Trump as their nominee for the 2024 presidential race. Just over 39% of voters chose the state’s former governor, Nikki Haley, as the nominee. The vote comes as North Carolina voters prep for the March 5 primary and as Trump plans a visit to Greensboro this weekend.

Signs posted along the Town Green, showing Hamas hostages in now-ubiquitous images, were ripped out of the ground Wednesday morning and strewn about. Norwalk Police are investigating the vandalism. “This morning we received a report that signs of Israeli hostages that were posted at the Norwalk Green were knocked down,” Chief James Walsh said in an email.
