IntroductionOne thing I have learned about revision is that sometimes I need to go back in order to move forward. Sometimes I need to return to those earlier versions—one, two, three—to find the spark that drove me to the page in the first place. What can I excavate from those earlier versions? What necessary fire can I restore to the present iteration? (, p. 10). IntroductionIn 2022, I would have said that widespread implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in health care would only happen in the distant future. Fast forward to now, and AI is seemingly being rolled out in every aspect of our lives, including our professional lives devoted to caring for older adults. This past year also brought continued innovation in vaccines, more data on the newer monoclonal antibodies for Alzheimer's disease (AD), and the release of the World Falls Guideline.
