Brayton Schneider is the recorder holder for the discus throw at Fort Madison High School. It seemed inevitable that the senior would set the record. He did so in a meet at Washington April 10 when he achieved a distance of 158 feet, 1 inch. That was seven inches further than the previous mark of 157-7 set by D Rusher in either 1991 or 1981. The record is so old that some of the information has been lost. it was done with the help of family and by being his best every day.
