    After suffering a tough 5-3 loss on Tuesday night, the Burton Panthers bounced back in a big way with a 14-1 victory over Milano last (Thursday) night. Burton got it started in the bottom of the first inning. Tyler Witt reached on an error, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and then scored on a groundout by Logun Tosta to make it 1-0. Rueben Rodriguez and Eli Jaeger reached on back-to-back singles.

    The Brenham Cubs rallied to pick up an 8-7 non-district win over Iowa Colony last (Thursday) night on Seniors Night at Fireman's Park. Iowa Colony jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning. The Cubs got one of the runs back in the bottom of the inning. Barrett Kohring led it off with a single. Grady Gee moved him over with a double. Then, Kohring scored on a groundout by Cannon Credeur to cut the Pioneers' lead to 2-1.

    The Lake Creek Lady Lions showed why they are one of the top teams in the country with a 15-3 victory over the Brenham Cubettes last (Thursday) night. Lake Creek scored once in the first inning and five runs in the second inning to take an early 6-0 lead. Brenham (15-11, 6-6) got on the scoreboard in the top of the third inning. Avery Maurer drew a two-out walk.

    Members of the Brenham High School FFA are going to State. According to Brenham High School Ag Science Teacher and FFA Advisor Jordan Kaminski, a total of eight teams qualified. The Nursery Landscape Team of Lindsey Hook, Ella Scheel, Madeline Pierce, and Morgan Westerfeld finished in third place for their category. The Wool Team also finished in third place. The team members include Barnes Koehl, Michael Kettler, Leylan Schroeder, Calvin Wunderlich, and Ella Scheel.

    Hardwood Hustle, a new youth travel basketball team in Brenham, is coming off of a big weekend where they won a tournament, and got to meet a famous athlete. Hardwood Hustle, which is made up of 5th and 6th girls, won the "Texas Rumble" Basketball Tournament Championship in Houston this past weekend. Bailey Thomas was named as the Tournament MVP.
