Note: The following article was written by Doug Russell for Inside Wisconsin Sports Magazine for their August 2010 issueAn Improbable Lifelong AllianceIt can be said without serious argument that Bud Selig and Herb Kohl are the two most powerful people in Wisconsin sports history. Improbably, they’ve also been the closest of friends their entire lives. How is it possible that two kids from Milwaukee’s west side could grow so powerful without growing apart?

GREEN BAY – The growth and development of Jordan Love as a reliable starting NFL quarterback took another step forward here Sunday. Love went 27-40 passing for 322 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. But much more importantly, he led his team to a pair of touchdowns late in the third and then fourth quarter to complete the come-from-behind victory, 23-20 at Lambeau Field over the visiting Los Angeles Chargers.

Through more than 56 minutes on Sunday, the Packers showed perseverance, maturity, playmaking ability, and mostly sound fundamentals. The last four minutes were more challenging. The Green Bay Packers were without their top playmaker on offense after Aaron Jones was ruled out because of the nagging hamstring injury that has affected him since the season’s opening game in Chicago. Green Bay could have used him, with their offense stuck in neutral throughout their 17-13 loss to the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium. First year starting quarterback Jordan Love struggled, going just 16 of 30 for 182 yards and the three interceptions.

I think I’ve curated my social media to the point where I’m getting more White Lotus content than political content. That’s a huge win for your friend Doug. 👍

It always hits and is never wrong. I rarely get more worked up than when someone slanders the great "One Shining Moment," so take your misguided criticism elsewhere. #LutherForever #OneShiningMoment https://t.co/BsuQAMMHkC

That’s a brutal, brutal ending for Houston. Holy smokes. Just a complete kick in the balls.
