A FRENCH comedy has been spotted filming scenes outside a busy West End hotel in the Scottish capital. Les Parfaits, a French comedy following a family of con artists on the run in Edinburgh, filmed scenes outside the Caledonian Hotel yesterday. Locals spotted dozens of film crew members, actors and massive camera rigs on the West End of Princes Street. The French crew has employed Scots locals to appear as extras in the shoot with several taking part in yesterday’s filming.

THE public consultation for the City of Edinburgh Council’s complete regeneration of the Seafield waterfront is ending in the coming weeks. Residents can participate in an online consultation on the redevelopment of the area up until the end of this month. The redevelopment will see massive changes brought to the area with the city council approaching the community engagement around the project in three stages.

BELLFIELD, a community centre in Portobello, has launched a community shares offer to raise money to redevelop the centre. In the first community shares offer that Portobello has seen, the hub intends to secure funds for a new celebration hall. £43,000 was raised as of last Wednesday, and the centre was hoping to hit their minimum target of £50,000 before the weekend.

POLICE Scotland has launched drone operations over Edinburgh’s greenspaces, making use of the tech to already make an arrest. Officers took to the capitals greenspaces on Tuesday to target illegal off-road and e-bike riders. Residents have complained over the last few months after off-road vehicles were ridden repeatedly over greenspaces causing severe damage to the public parks. Police Scotland announced earlier this week that they were planning to use drones to tackle the issue.

A YOUNG girl has been knocked off her bike in the middle of a busy town centre road by a gang of youths. Three young boys were witnessed by the girl’s father and several other members of the public as they ‘booted’ the little girl off her bike. The incident occurred yesterday evening on Musselburgh High Street, a busy road with dozens of cars whizzing by. The three youths immediately fled the scene after the girl fell from her new bike and onto the concrete road.
