SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - A Texoma native had the chance to celebrate her 100th birthday on Saturday. Mary Jo Heron - originally from Grant, Oklahoma - has lived all across the globe, traveling with her husband who served in the air force. Now, she’s back in Texoma, living in Sherman. At her 100th birthday party, Mary Jo shared several of her favorite memories from traveling to see her husband. “I flew to Kwajalein Island With two babies,” Heron said.

DENISON, Texas (KXII) - At their last meeting, the Denison City Council discussed plans to take over a historical marker that’s been a part of the city since the 19th century - Iron Ore Cemetery. Located just behind Texoma Medical Center, restoring Iron Ore Cemetery was the goal 4 years ago. Now, they look to honor those buried there by officially making the gravesite a part of Denison. Its origins date back to 1871, when the Iron Ore Baptist Church was founded.

BONHAM, Texas (KXII) - Just over a week since an EF-1 tornado hit the city of Bonham, several different groups have jumped in to play their part in cleaning up. The Southern Baptists of Texas Convention has been meeting at First Baptist Church in Bonham nearly every day before they break off into teams to go help with storm cleanup. The leader of the group, Jesse Hauptrief, says over the last year, they’ve had 11 different assignments.

FANNIN COUNTY, Texas (KXII) - A motion to dismiss felony theft charges towards four Fannin County officials was filed Friday. The charges against former Fannin County Judge Spanky Carter, as well as current Precinct 2 Commissioner Allen Self, former Precinct 4 Commissioner Dean Lackey, Accountant Michael Rigler, were filed to be dismissed by Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot due to a lack of evidence.

DURANT, Okla. (KXII) - The Bryan County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in identifying someone who stole baseball equipment belonging to a high schooler. Sheriff Joey Tucker says the suspect was in a vehicle in the Sunny Meadows subdivision of Durant Sunday morning. He appeared to be a man wearing a red baseball cap with a black mask over his face. Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office or the Durant Police Department.
