DENISON, Texas (KXII) - Grayson College held their 21st annual Law Enforcement Forensics Conference, hosting a variety of speakers to talk about unique criminology topics with a common goal - diving deeper. Celestina Rossi, now a crime scene investigator for Montgomery County, has served in law enforcement for nearly three decades in a variety of counties. She shared some of her expertise with both veteran and rookie criminal investigators. “We all share a common goal,” Rossi said.

DENISON, Texas (KXII) - 5 years after the city of Denison purchased the abandoned former Johns Manville plant and started a massive clean up project, their work is almost done. Before the purchase, the site had been deserted since the 1980’s due to an asbestos outbreak from some of the concrete pipes made there. The plant was one of the biggest employers in the area, and the closure was devastating, leaving several without jobs.

SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - Sherman ISD announced two new principals for two of their elementary schools - both promotions from assistant principal positions. Lori Hartman has been named the new principal of Sory Elementary School after serving as assistant principal for the last five years. Ali Holderby will step into the role of principal at Washington Elementary, after spending the last three years as assistant principal at Fairview Elementary.

DENISON, Texas (KXII) - Denison’s vibrant Main Street got national recognition today in Pennsylvania, as one of three winners of the 2025 Great American Main Street Award. After four times as a runner up, hard work finally pays off for the city of Denison, and it’s not hard to see why. “I think the people that visit our downtown, including those of us who live there, are realizing the warmth and the friendliness of the people of Denison,” said Denison Mayor Robert Crawley.

RINGLING, Okla. (KXII) - Ringling Public Schools announced the passing of one of their students on Friday. The district expressed their condolences to the student’s family, stating they are “deeply saddened by the sudden loss.”They are asking for thoughts and prayers for the affected family, and the Ringling community as they deal with such a tragedy.
