Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is a potentially curative treatment for high-risk hematologic diseases. However, even in graft-versus-host disease (GVHD)–free and relapse-free allo-HSCT survivors, full reconstitution of the adaptive immune system and functional protection from opportunistic infections can take months to years.
