Joe Biden just can't catch a break. The addled, beleaguered 82-year-old former president purportedly picked this week to unveil Jomentum 2.0 - the viability rehabilitation tour. It actually began a few weeks ago when the Biden camp procured the services of Chris Meagher, a long-time campaign and communications strategist last seen in the Biden administration over at the Department of Pentagon. Politico has the story.

Three years after John Berendt released his crime drama novel Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil in 1994, Clint Eastwood picked up the movie rights and filmed it. It featured a star-studded cast, and turned out to be one of the few movies Eastwood directed that he didn't at least make a cameo in, let alone act in a leading role. But what he lacked in front of the camera, he made up for on the motion picture soundtrack.

The Supreme Court held oral arguments this morning in a case that all people concerned with religious liberty and school choice care very deeply about. It's called Oklahoma Charter School Board V. Drummond, and could be the final nail in the coffin of public officials desperate to keep religious discrimination alive and well.

I will be the first person to admit that artificial intelligence terrifies me. It can be wildly funny if used in the right way, but the ability to pass stuff made up out of whole cloth by someone typing up a query in a search box makes me worry about whether we can believe anything is true in the future. And yet, I think I've reached the point where I'd trust news and political reportage coming through an AI algorithm rather than bother with resistance media any longer.

I've lived in California my entire life. I know the deal here. We technically are able to elect Republicans for governor, and have done so many times. Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon come to mind, but so also do Pete Wilson and George Deukmejian. It used to be doable until, ironically, when we conservatives passed Prop. 187 in 1994, which is the forebearer of what is essentially the Donald Trump immigration and deportation program.

I can’t recall having this big a laugh at an unfolding story before. Icing on the cake here is one of the Reps involved is Bob Melendez, jr. how fitting that Gold Bars Bob is in the Graybar Hotel, and now Silver Bars Bob wants in. It doesn’t get any better than this.
