God gave us these days with Him lying in a grave for a reason. Last Sunday, Palm Sunday, my local church rushed through the triumphal entry and spent most of the service focused on the Passion – the events of Christ’s trial and crucifixion.

    Maundy Thursday and the “meat” of Holy Week is upon us. This is a time when we should examine our mistakes and confess them. I hope you go to church this evening and enjoy the Eucharist, communion, a Celebration of the Last Supper, however your church refers to it. By the time Sunday morning rolls around, our sins are forgiven – the price paid, the victory won. And yet we still act like losers. Typically, it is a big stretch to impose religious thinking on political activity.

    Since Trump won the election and came into office, we do not hear much from environmentalists. But that does not mean they are not active, particularly in other parts of the world where their roots had gone deeper. The more I read, the more I think they just don’t like people. Perhaps it was the publication of “The Population Bomb” in 1968 when they first showed their true colors. But in 1968 there were very real, very consequential environmental issues.
