    On January 16, 2025, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC orCommission) finalized changes to the Children's Online PrivacyProtection Act (COPPA) Rule (Final Rule). The Final Rule adopts certain amendments that wereproposed in a January 2024 Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (2024 NPRM),which we summarized here. The Final Rule largely adopts the rulechanges proposed in the 2024 NPRM, with a few exceptions. The Final Rule goes into effect 60 days after publication in theFederal Register.
