That Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata, a lawyer, represented some relatives of people who died in the March 2019 Ethiopian Airlines plane crash until they were paid is not in question. Families received millions in compensation per victim. For each family that he represented, Dr Kang’ata got his pre-agreed share alongside his lawyer partners — as he told the Nation in 2024.
