The Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce unveiled a new name and new logo this week. Chamber officials announced a new brand identity at a Women of all Generations panel and celebration event held Tuesday at Fayetteville Town Center. The organization will be called Chamber Fayetteville moving forward, and unveiled a new logo designed by local company, Brittany Phillips Design.

An annual celebration of comic books and fandom intended to promote literacy is coming to Fayetteville next month. The event, called Free Comic Book Day, will take place at Fayetteville Public Library on Saturday, May 3. Attendees will receive free comic books during the two hour event, while supplies last. In addition, there will be bounce houses, games, crafts, spray-on tattoos, a teen comics and manga workshop, a Pokemon trivia contest with prizes, and more.

A free laser light show and silent disco event scheduled for this weekend has been cancelled due to the threat of inclement weather in the forecast. The event, called Phantasma in the Ramble, was scheduled to take place in the Lower Ramble area on April 24-25 and then in the new Upper Ramble area near the corner of Dickson Street and West Avenue on April 26. Organizers from Downtown Fayetteville Coalition announced the cancellation on social media Wednesday morning.

All activities associated with the game, including an autograph session with the team, has also been cancelled. The Hogs will open their season on Aug. 30 versus Alabama A&M at Razorback stadium.

Earth Day is coming up, and Botanical Garden of the Ozarks will celebrate the occasion next weekend. The garden will host Earth Day Garden Market on Saturday, April 26, featuring live music, food trucks, a plant sale, crafts, games, and more. Musical performers at the event include Ashtyn Barbaree, Tara & the Gift Horses, and Barnyard and Company. Around 30 vendors are expected to be set up at the event that will also include a kid zone featuring interactive activities, guided hikes, and more.

Earth Day is coming up, and city officials will commemorate the occasion with a cleanup event on Saturday, April 19. The event will begin at 8:45 a.m. at the Marion Orton Recycling Center, where participants can pick up supplies and enjoy coffee and bagels. Shortly after that, Mayor Molly Rawn will read a proclamation and hand out Fayetteville Environmental Stewardship Awards. Later, volunteers will be assigned cleanup destinations, and will head out to work.
