MACOMB (WGEM) - An effort to get more women into the law enforcement profession is seeing success. For the last two years, the Macomb Police Department has participated in the Department of Justice’s 30x30 program, which aims to have female officers occupy at least 30% of an agency’s officer staff by 2030. Currently, there are 24 total officers at MPD, seven of which are female. This puts Macomb at less than 1% away from completing the DOJ’s initiative.
