    Staff reportQuinasia Abercrombie had 11 points and seven rebounds, and Autumn Phillips added 10 points as the AU women’s basketball team defeated Benedict 57-46 in Columbia, S.C.Tyasia Freeman totaled nine points and seven boards for the Jaguars. AU jumped to a 31-20 halftime lead before Benedict cut the lead to 39-32 in the third quarter. However, the Jaguars would pull away after Mone Florence hit a 3-pointer for a 42-32 lead with 9:42 left in the game.

The University of Georgia, which hosts Georgia Tech on Friday night, Nov. 29, at Sanford Stadium in Athens, will play either Texas or Texas A&M in the SEC Championship game.
