    It was perhaps the last question South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley saw coming on the day before a National Championship game against Iowa and Caitlin Clark. A reporter from an outlet that never paid much attention to women’s sports came with the “gotcha” question on the “hot button issue” surrounding trans athletes in women’s college sports. Staley handled the question in the same manner she broke a press as an All-American at Virginia. She drove the lane and scored.
