Edith P. Mitchel, 76, of Newtown Square, longtime physician, professor, and program director at Thomas Jefferson University, civil rights pioneer, and retired Air Force brigadier general, died Sunday, Jan. 21, at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby. The cause of her death has not been disclosed.
