GRAND RAPIDS, MI – After severe, overnight storms, utility crews are working to restore power to 233,000 customers across the state while some West Michigan residents deal with downed trees, damaged structures and debris from 70-mph winds. Consumers Energy on Friday, May 16, said that over 500 crews are working around the clock to restore power to its 190,000 residences and businesses without electricity.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Grand Rapids’ most iconic bars and restaurants bought less liquor last year than the year before. According to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission’s 2024 financial statement, the top 10 bars in Kent County spent a combined $2.76 million on liquor last year.
