After a half-decade of soul searching, Maserati has a good idea of who it is. Finally. Not since the 80s has the automaker's vehicle priorities been so well defined. It's about power. About design. About attitude. Maserati once again knows who it is, and the new GranCabrio capitalizes on that. The automaker says that the pillars of the car's engineering and design are open-top elegance, performance, cutting-edge technology and iconic design. It hits those on the head.

The bar for electric vehicles is getting higher, especially luxury models. The technology is not longer new, and engineers are working with designers to trade off on aerodynamics and range in favor of aesthetic choices and interior materials. Love them or hate them, the Mercedes EQE Sedan and SUV are a prime example of this. Spending $85,000 gets buyers a good amount of everything without losing the feeling that you're in a luxury model. For Porsche, the bar is even higher.

In the last five days, 10 new U.S.-bound vehicles have made their debut. The influx of new models is ahead of major events where many of the vehicles will be showcased, and as production on new model year versions kicks off. "Summer is an optimal time for automakers to generate buzz and media attention with new product reveals. It can boost sales in the short term, helping automakers unload current model inventory while building anticipation for when the new models go on sale.
