A lobster estimated to be over 100 years old is living its best life after being pardoned by two American officials and released into the ocean. The release of the 9.5kg 110-year-old crustacean named Lorenzo - a beloved mascot at Peter’s Clam Bar in Long Island, New York - was held on June 12 in conjunction with National Lobster Day and Father’s Day. He was earlier pardoned by Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin and Nassau County Legislator John Ferretti, according to reports in the US media.

A team of firefighters from Johor did the heavy lifting on June 18 when it was called in to move a 200kg man from his third-floor flat to a waiting ambulance after he complained of breathing difficulties. Skudai Fire and Rescue department chief Saifulbahri Safar said a 10-man team from his department responded to a distress call they received at 10.49pm, and found the 46-year-old who had asthma suffering from breathing difficulties.

A man was driving a tipper truck on a Johor road with its carriage raised when it snagged an overhead electric cable and toppled three electric poles. The June 10 incident took place at 3.20pm along a road near a school in the bustling Gelang Patah town. An 11-second video of the incident went viral on social media. Iskandar Puteri district police chief M. Kumarasan said the 69-year-old driver had unloaded a soil consignment nearby, but forgot to lower the truck’s rear bed.

SINGAPORE - Jetstar Asia will cease operations from July 31 as part of its “strategic restructure”, said its parent company Qantas Group in a statement on June 11. It said only 16 intra-Asia routes will be impacted by the closure of Jetstar Asia with no changes to Jetstar Airways and Jetstar Japan services into Asia. “All of Jetstar Airways international services in and out of Australia remain unchanged,” it said.
