In spring 2024, nearly 95% of participating Northeastern undergraduate students voted to increase the transparency of the Student Government Association’s budget allocation process for student organizations. On Nov. 8, the Student Government Association, or SGA, which oversees how much money clubs receive from the university, published student organization funding reports for the first time in over a decade — a pivotal moment in a years-long push for increased transparency into the budget process.

Following the spring announcement that Northeastern would add a fourth undergraduate campus to its network by absorbing Marymount Manhattan College, a performing arts-focused college in New York City, Northeastern Chancellor and Senior Vice President for Learning Ken Henderson said the university remains committed to maintaining Marymount Manhattan College’s musical theatre and dance programs during an Oct. 25 open interview with a Marymount vice president.

Head coaches of Northeastern’s men’s sports teams made, on average, $109,000 more than head coaches of women’s sports teams during the 2024 fiscal year, or FY 2024, according to an annual survey and report published by the university’s athletic department. In FY 2024, the average salary for the head coach of a men’s team was $250,757. The average head coach of a women’s team made $141,541 — a $109,216 disparity.
