Leeds United’s highly-rated 16-year-old striker Oliver Boast is set to join Tottenham Hotspur. Boast, one of Leeds’ prized academy assets, has chosen to continue his development with the north London club. The player’s decision to move south meant Leeds could either negotiate a fee with Tottenham or allow a tribunal to decide compensation. They went with the former and sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity, indicated a seven-figure sum has been agreed for Boast’s switch.

Most Premier League fans won’t have heard of Kota Takai until this transfer window. But the 20-year-old, who is set to join Tottenham Hotspur from Japanese side Kawasaki Frontale for a J1 League record £5million ($6.8m, 1billion Japanese yen), has quickly developed into a star in his home country.

Liverpool defender Nat Phillips is undergoing a medical today ahead of completing a permanent transfer to West Bromwich Albion. Auckland, who were beaten 10-0 by Bayern Munich in their first game of the tournament, were much improved on their second outing, frustrating Benfica with a solid defensive structure and an inspired performance from goalkeeper Nathan Garrow.

Spent a few hours watching footage of Bryan Mbeumo and Brentford to see if there’s anything we can learn about how Thomas Frank might try to develop Mathys Tel. My conclusion: I think there’s a lot to be excited about! #THFC https://t.co/H22eUnbZtU

Must say I've actually been pleasantly surprised by the general quality of DAZN's Club World Cup coverage (not great, but better than expected), but these Temu-like pop-ups are genuinely doing my head in

Frank impressive as always but I thought the “if you don’t take risks, you also take risks” was 1) a cool line and 2) potentially reflective of his plan to evolve his more pragmatic style at Brentford to something more expansive at Spurs
