With World of Warcraft having just deployed its most recent update, you might assume that the game is going to kick back and let everyone enjoy the patch for a bit… but no. The latest patch for Marvel Rivals contains what is either the best possible pitch for buying premium access to an event or the most underhanded possible move for doing so because you need premium access to get Venom’s Bubble Pop costume. Everyone can earn the Human Torch’s Future Foundation costume for free, but don’t you want Venom to be dressed up in a pink bubblegum suit? Doesn’t that immediately sound like the best thing? It’s insidious.

The latest installment of Tico Talks for Throne and Liberty (in which Tico does, in fact, talk) is about a hodgepodge of topics, as always, and one of those topics is performance. And it’s not just whistling Dixie about improvements, either, as the game will be getting a patch on June 26th improving performance throughout the game on multiple different hardware setups.

Because this site is staffed by us Olds, we tend to remember the history of this ridiculous genre pretty well. This is materially helped by the fact that we were there for pretty much all of it. I don’t need to go searching to see what people thought about Final Fantasy XI when it launched in the US; I can look back on being there on launch day and remembering people complaining about slow installations or server issues or what do you mean I have to camp in the freakin’ Dunes for days?

September 23rd might seem like it’s a long way away, but it gets closer one day at a time, and it was getting closer than the developers at Bungie would have liked. So it turns out that Marathon, the PvPvE extraction shooter that is supposedly based on the original FPS trilogy made by Bungie long ago, is being delayed from its September 23rd launch date to an unspecified time in the future.
