Throne and Liberty’s modestly named 2.7.0 update has arrived this morning, bringing with it the Loot Goblin festival. Recently, The First Descendant pushed out a big hotfix full of massive balance changes. If you don’t know the game, these changes might have looked absolutely insane. Ines’ ultimate cooldown tripled? Multiple characters getting damage buffs in the range of 100-300%?!? Surely this is a massive over-correction that will break the game!But the wild thing is, it wasn’t. Gameforge went all out for this Aion release, and we’re not sorry to see it: The 3.7 Wrath update that the company has been teasing for weeks is now officially live in the EU version of Aion Classic. The company is calling it one of the largest expansions ever for this version of the game. Notably, the update includes a revamp of the enchanting system, the (temporary) return of the Tiarkh Testing Lab PvP instance, and two new dungeons: Burning Blood Fortress and Dokkaebi Realm.

You know, if MMO studios didn’t have to spend so much of their time and money and energy on addressing cheaters, we’d all be a lot richer for it. That’s the takeaway from the latest Throne and Liberty developer video, where Amazon’s Tico has to devote the majority of his discussion to fair play in the game. Apparently, some grown-ass adults thought it would be hilarious to exploit a bug whereby they farmed rune chests in Dimensional Trials while attacking bosses that couldn’t fight back.
